Here are the last of the shots. These shots below are from a small village called Ban Doi Pui which is on Doi Suthep Mountain down the street from the Doi Suthep Temple.

These last shots are in Bangkok at various markets. The last shot is of The Reclining Buddha.

Finally have a chance to update the some of the last of the shots from Thailand. This set below is from Umphang region of Thailand which is southwest of Tak.

Some things are the always the same regardless of location or culture. This woman is riding a motorbike with one hand, dog on the back, and talking on a cell phone. But this is out in the boonies in the mountains, and I don't have any cell signal!!!

Here is Sept. 6th just a little north of Bangkok to see the Thai Ruins and couple of other stops.

Early am, just after coffee. There are lots of stray dogs running around everywhere, except in the central downtown area. Some may be pets that the owners let run wild.

There is occasionally a homeless or disabled person begging for money.

There are many street vendors selling all sorts of food and trinkets.

On the way out to the floating market

Here are some shots I took at the floating market. There are people from all over visiting the market; Some tourists, but local Thais as well. You can get all sorts of delicious foods, desserts, and fruit. Of course there are lots of vendors selling t-shirts and souvenirs to the tourists.

This is a favorite dessert of mine. It starts with a crepe like with creme filling and something I don't know and grilled till crispy and folded in half.

Here is my breakfast this morning. Bananas, Coffee, and some kind of rice pudding fried on one side.

Cinco De Mayo - Coach Shula

Here we are in sunny South Florida, and we have many celebrities. Today we are photographing Coach Shula. The assignment came from a local ad agency, and the goal was to provide a clean high resolution file to produce a full size standup. I rented a studio in Fort Lauderdale called TYE. As always, I make sure I have the right support. TYE, was exceptional host. The makeup artist, Sherrie Ellis, always provides the best service for makeup and is wonderful to work with.

ASMP's Seminar on dpBestflow by Peter Krogh

Last night, I attended the ASMP seminar on dpBestflow given by Peter Krogh.

I had already read some of Peter's book, "The DAM Book", and I was not certain that I was going to learn much of anything new.

I was wrong. I was impressed with his presentation. The thing that stuck out to me the most was the aurgument on why to use Adobe's DNG® file over the camera's RAW. I read it in his book, but when he explained it in person, the light bulb went on. He said that when you are done making your adjustments in Lightroom® and then convert the files to DNG®, that the RAW settings get included without a XMP sidecar file. Not only that but a preview of the adjusted file is also included. Now this file can be portable and the settings go with the file and for example can be opened on another computer and the settings are there.

The reason that this is important to me, is if I wanted to transport the corrected RAW to the client or to another machine, or to the retoucher. Another reason is for Archival and backup(This is really important).

I could seriously talk for hours about this.

Wild Olives opens in Boca Raton

As a restaurant photographer, I was called up to shoot the new Wild Olives by Todd English.
The food tastes as good as I make it look. It was a crammed shoot of course. They were in the middle of renovating the interior as I was trying to shoot food in a back corner. Not to mention that they were opening up the next day. Needless to say, I was able to get some fabulous food shots. I always like a good challenge.

Joey Giannuzzi, master chef, opens his own creative vision, called The Green Gourmet. Restaurant Photographer, Joe Woolf was there the opening day to capture the great food and atmosphere that Joey's created. I ate a sandwich for lunch before I left. It was phenomenal. If you are ever in Delray Beach, FL, you have to stop in. Besides a great chef, Joey is great guy. I wish him the very best in all his endeavors.

The Gorenflo Project Completed

A generous community, the Weiss School and Suffolk Construction are making a dream a reality for a Palm Beach Gardens family with seven adopted special-needs children. The project is now complete.
